How it works

First, we solve the "HOT AIR" problem.

Our “pre-cool” flash evaporation methodology (using mist water to cool ambient air temperature) is an effective means to increase heat flux (the rate of heat exchange) by lowering ambient air temperature.

Air temperature is the primary function of heat transfer from the refrigerant; the cooler the outside air, the faster the system can remove heat. Cool-n-Save decreases ambient air temperature by about 30 degrees, which improves overall HVAC efficiency and performance.

pre-cool shield

All it takes is a little evaporative 'magic'.

About five years ago, our engineers discovered that the easiest way to solve the “hot air” problem is with a little evaporative 'magic'. Our Cool-n-Save pre-cool system raises a “pre-cool shield” of treated water mist into the air around the HVAC unit. Flash evaporation causes the mist to evaporate almost instantly. The result is what engineers call an adiabatic boundary – a shield that literally insulates the HVAC from excess heat. Ambient air temperature around the unit drops by as much as 30°F. That means that if the ambient air temperature is 98°F, Cool-n-Save will knock it down to 68°F. The air then acts on the fins and increases heat exchange efficiency.

heat exchangeRelative humidity is the amount of moisture in the air compared to the amount of moisture the air could absorb at the same temperature. It is a crucial factor in determining cooling potential. The lower the relative humidity, the more water can be vaporized, and the more heat can be removed (see chart).

A solution that works in almost any climate.

Even in areas with high relative humidity the moisture level around HVAC coils is very low (less than 20%). This is due to the high heat output of the coils - about 85°F. That's why Cool-n-Save HVAC Pre-cool is effective in almost any climate.

With a properly installed system in place, Cool-n-Save treated water evaporates quickly enough to produce that crucial drop in ambient air temperature, which leads to the lower fin temperature and greater heat flux (temperature differential between coolant and fin). The result is that the condenser runs less frequently.

That's how Cool-n-Save reduces HVAC energy consumption by as much as 30%.

THE COOL-N-SAVE® EVAPORATIVE PRE-COOL SOLUTION

logo Cool-n-Save Evaporative Pre-Cool systems are comprised of a high-performance, low-maintenance components. It can be mechanically added to any commercial-grade (split) central air conditioning system - without impact on warranties and often without the need for system shutdown. We have been working five years under our brand “Cool-n-Save” customizing systems for commercial properties in the United States and abroad. We build each installation to meet specific requirements and specifications of the location. No two installations are alike.

Commitment to service

  • Our guarantee. We afford the highest level of service to all of our customers. Every question is answered in a timely and professional manner; every concern is addressed to the very best of our ability.

  • Our commitment. Energy conservation for HVAC is our specialty - we are one of the first corporations to offer a proven low-cost, high-return solution for residential and commercial HVAC customers. We will work to keep our technology fresh and up-to-date. We will work with our customers to ensure that every opportunity to COOL more efficienty and SAVE every possible dollar is taken.

Year-round efficiency, year-round savings.

We have sold 16,000 residential units in five years; more than 14,000 last three years. We have also installed more than 200 commercial systems in two years. Here are some of the reasons that our commercial and residential customers LOVE Cool-n-Save:

  • Because, on average, they earn up to 30% in savings from the cost of running their air conditioning systems.

  • Because significant energy savings begin immediately. Our customers enjoy a fast return on their investment often measured in MONTHS, not years.

  • Because Cool-n-Save may be used with common “split system” air conditioners that are prevalent in homes and businesses today.

  • Overall savings are often sufficient for many of our clients to earn back the cost of installation, equipment, and materials in months, not years.

No scaling, no mineral build-up; safe water treatment with Cool Release™

SmartReleaseAs we were researching efficient ways to control scaling, we came up with polyacrylic acid (PAA) in patented water permeable time-release tablets. Cool Release inhibits formation of scale from minerals found in the water supply. Residential customers use our unique 'push-in' cartridge design in 3 and 6-month sizes. Commercial customers purchase bulk tablets suitable for refillable 'screw on' treatment canisters.  The time release tablets ensure a steady distribution of the water treatment chemistry.

Cool Release is ideal for home patio misting systems and water features (fountains).  Greenway is currently testing the water treatment chemical for restaurant, hospitality, and lodging where misting systems are used extensively in outdoor dining and entertainment venues.

If high levels of minerals and sediment are found in the local water supply, Greenway will require commercial installations to install HERO (High Efficiency Reverse Osmosis) water filtration system to augment Cool Release water treatment.

We put the solution exactly where you need it.

misting_armsWe will design a network of tubing and micro mist nozzles based upon your HVAC equipment specifications and environmental variables. A specific pattern and size (number and deployment of the micro nozzles) will be selected to ensure that just enough treated water is available to create an effective pre-cool shield around your system.

No corrosion on condenser coils and fins with Microguard®

During our development stage, we licensed a patented anti-corrosion maintenance coating called Microguard. This coating prevents corrosion on most metal surfaces – aluminum, copper, painted surfaces, and stainless steel. The primary component of the coating is silane, an inorganic silicon-hydrogen compound that prevents oxidization, cracking (of paint), and other forms of corrosion without inhibiting heat exchange. Microguard was developed by a NASA chemist who created a related coating that protect the Statue of Liberty and the launching gantries used in all U.S.-based space launch facilities.  Microguard requires professional application and is effective for up to eight years. It has been tested on air conditioning systems for nearly 11 years. We currently have a license to offer Microguard to our HVAC commercial customers as an optional service.

INSTALLATION

All sites are professionally customized and maintained. Installation has almost no impact on building operations. Depending upon local building codes, permits are usually not required (contact us for a quote).

All installations are performed by our factory trained Authorized Dealers and Installers or by a local contractor of your choice using our instruction materials (some service restrictions may apply).

All installations that are performed by our Authorized Dealers and Installers, come with services such as condenser pre-cleaning, thermostat use evaluation, training, an optional maintenance program to insure maximum savings and energy conservation and optional anti-corrosion treatment (Micorguard). We will also install each system in a manner consistent with your building codes and business needs. This includes pump placement, secondary thermostat and timer switching, wire and hose harnessing, conduit running and other services as needed.
